三重原始星「IRAS 04239+2436」のガスの分布。左はアルマ望遠鏡が捉えたガスの分布、右は数値シミュレーションで再現されたガスの分布。左側の青色で示しているA、Bは、原始星を円盤状に取り囲む塵（ちり）からの電波に対応する。Aは解像されていない2個の原始星である。右側の「+」は、3つの原始星の位置を示している。アルマ望遠鏡で観測された3つの渦状腕と数値シミュレーションの結果が、よく一致している。
